Watch: Media Tried To Interview LeBron Over Magic Johnson Bombshell

The Los Angeles Lakers are having some hard time this season, and Magic Johnson’s decision to resign was the last major change. The Lakers legend announced his resignation in an impromptu news conference. Yes, Magic Johnson is leaving the team.

So, everyone was so focused on LeBron’s reaction? King James accompanied his teammates during the game. The Magic Johnson thing sure affected him, and reporter waited for his reaction. Well, there was no reaction at all. LeBron didn’t address media members after the game. Los Angeles Times columnist Arash Markazi tried to track him down for a comment. There was a thick wall of security between reporters and LeBron. “Crazy, crazy, crazy,” was the only thing he said.

The team released an official statement, praising Johnson for his great talent and effort to turn the team into a winning squad.

“There is no greater Los Angeles Laker than Earvin Johnson. We are deeply grateful to Magic for all that he has done for our franchise – as a player, an ambassador and an executive. We thank him for his work these past two years as our President of Basketball Operations and wish him, Cookie, Andre, EJ and Elisa all the best with their next steps. He will always be not only a Lakers icon, but our family. As we begin the process of moving forward, we will work in a measured and methodical fashion to make the right moves for the future of our organization.”

During his press conference, Magic said Buss doesn’t know anything about it.

“No, I haven’t. I couldn’t,” Magic said when asked if he had told Jeanie Buss the big news. “She doesn’t know I’m standing here because I knew I would be crying like a baby in front of her. Somebody going to have to tell my boss. I know she’s going to be sick, but I knew I couldn’t face her face-to-face and tell her, even though I was just with her yesterday.”

The Lakers owner took to Twitter to share a strong message. She wrote, “Earvin, I loved working side by side with you. You’ve brought us a long way. We will continue the journey. We love you.”
