WR Chris Hogan Signs With New NFL Team

The New England Patriots lost another player, and this time Chris Hogan decided to sign with a different team. The Patriots nation didn’t see this coming.

Hogan inked a one-year deal with the Carolina Panthers just a week after the team signed Rashad Ross. The deal was announced by the Panthers Friday morning.

The former undrafted free agent didn’t have the best start to his career as he spent some time with the San Francisco 49ers, New York Giants and Miami Dolphins before playing four seasons with the Buffalo Bills. Hogan became a top postseason receiver in New England, and helped the team win two Super Bowls.

Hogan had a really great game with the Patriots. Moreover, he is proud of the success they had on the field.

“I think you’re just being a competitor,” Hogan said of his team. “You want to go out there and do what’s best for the team and help your team move the ball down the field, make plays and help them win football games. It’s all about opportunities in this league, and when you get the opportunities in this league, you just have to make the most of them. Because of what we’ve done in the past, how hard we’ve worked on the passing game and obviously the guy who’s leading us with the ball. We have all the faith in the world in him. I’m just really proud of this team and the way that we fought today. It wasn’t perfect, it never is, but everyone really worked hard and came out here and played a good football game.”

If you ask quarterback Tom Brady, he will show all his respect for the receiver.

“He’s working his tail off,” TB12 said of Hogan. “The fourth-down play at the end of the game when Logan Ryan knocked it over on Julian, Chris ran a great route and beat Malcolm. I had a chance to throw it down the sidelines, but I was kind of focused on Julian. There’s different times when he gets opportunities and he does a great job for us. Everyone has to get targets and looks. He hasn’t gotten as many as he would like. I have to figure out a way to get the ball to everybody, so that we can all make plays. When everyone is making plays, I think our offense is tough to stop. That will certainly be something we focus on and make sure everyone is getting looks that they deserve and go make the plays when we get them.”
