Photos: Upcoming Nike LeBron 16 “Lakers” Honors The Franchise’s 16 Championships

The Los Angeles Lakers won sixteen NBA Championships. They signed LeBron James hoping to win their seventeenth championship. The upcoming release of the LeBron 16 will honor the success the franchise has. All the years of their golden triumphs are embroidered on the heel shroud of the shoe. It’s decorated with a nice combo of classic purple, gold and baby blue. There’s a bold 23 featured on the tongue to laud the current star. The LeBron 16s will be released on May 18th at select Nike Basketball retailers.

LeBron James’ contract with Nike is one of the best deals ever, and there are a few great designs coming in the next few years.

LeBron is currently busy with the problems in the franchise, and his problems started with with the groin injury he suffered on Christmas Day. His team missed the playoffs, and Magic Johnson resigned from his position.

“It was just weird for [Johnson] to just be like . . . ‘Nah, I’m out of here,’ ” LeBron said of the resignation. “And not even have [a heads-up] like: ‘Hey, Bron . . . kiss my a–. I’m out of here.’ I would have been okay with that. Like: ‘Hey, Bron, it’s Magic. Kiss my a–; I’m gone.’ It wasn’t even that.

“What do you mean [stepped down]?” LeBron told Mims. “Like, from out of his car? I’m like: ‘Man, get the f— out of my face. You’re bulls—ting me.’

“We were like, ‘Damn, right now?’ It was literally 70 minutes on the clock before [tip-off]. [The team] is getting ready for a game. And you decide to do that right here, right now? I feel like there’s a time and place for things, and I believe that you knew you were going to make that decision. So why would you do it here? And why would you do it now?”

LeBron is looking forward to improve the current situation in Los Angeles, and the release of this shoe will bring some joy in this gray period. The Lakers are off to signing another All-Star and they will also have to hire a head coach.
