Robert Kraft’s Attorneys Strike Hard At Prosecutors Following Accusations Of Lying

Florida prosecutors are going after Patriots owner Robert Kraft, and the misdemeanor prostitution solicitation case seems to be getting out of control. Kraft’s attorneys are trying really hard to save his reputation.

A day after prosecutors accused attorneys Alex Spiro and William Burch of lying in court, the duo came back stronger, and called the accusation “scurrilous” and “baseless.” Prosecutors Judith Arco, Greg Kridos and Craig Williams are trying to get Judge Leonard Hanser to find the pair in contempt of court; Burck and Spiro are trying to get prosecutors sanctioned.

“The prosecutors have now gone beyond trampling the rights of Mr. Kraft and into sullying the reputations of defense counsel,” Spiro and Burck wrote. There is one explanation for these allegations, and it is the prosecution’s “bad-faith efforts to distract from its own misconduct and from fatal defects in its case.”

The Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office wasn’t available for comment. TV cameras caught Arco using an obscenity to describe the attorney. The incident happened during a hearing over a request from Kraft’s legal team to suppress video that was illegally obtained from Jupiter police officer. In this video, we can see the Patriots owner paying for services at the Orchids of Asia Day Spa in January.

Kraft is one of the 25 men charged with using shady services at the day spa. The Patriots owner pleaded not guilty and issued a public apology for the scandal that involved pretty much everyone around him.

Arco, Kridos and Williams are busy handling major felony prosecutions. Burck represented former White House Counsel Don McGahn during special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. Spiro represents Jay-Z, Mick Jagger and other celebrities.

The current battle is over Spiro’s questioning during the suppression hearing of patrol officer Scott Kimbark. He pulled over Kraft’s chauffer after one of his visits in January.

Spiro and Burck wrote that Arco and other officers witnessed’s Spiro’s conversation with Kimbark.

“Far from being threatening in tone, the atmosphere in the hallway was amiable and light hearted … to the point that Officer Kimbark even joked he would like to have a job working for the defense,” they wrote.
