Chiefs Fan Who Aimed A Laser Pointer At Tom Brady During A Playoff Game Speaks Out For The First Time

Dwyan Morgan, 64, is the man who pointed a laser right in Tom Brady during the Patriots’ AFC Championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs on January 20. The Chiefs fan was charged with disturbing the peace. However, he doesn’t even think of apologizing to TB12.

Morgan had an exclusive interview with Inside Edition, and actually reconstructed the moment he hit the Patriots quarterback with a green laser pen. He shone the laser at Brady at least three times during the important match in Missouri. Morgan didn’t intend to hurt the quarterback, but he sure wanted to distract him a little.

In his interview, Morgan said he’d had one too many beers and thought he’d try and make his kids laugh. This wasn’t the best lesson for his sons, and they were sitting right beside him in the stadium.

The incident wasn’t captured on CBS’ broadcast of the game, but a local news camera man caught it. A week later, the police tracked the Chiefs fan and charged him with a misdemeanor count of disturbing the peace.

‘I didn’t think it would go this far,’ Morgan said. ‘I shouldn’t have done it.’

Morgan felt remorseful for embarrassing other fans. When asked if he would apologize to the Patriots or TB12 directly, he said “absolutely not.” Well, now he may get up to a year in jail or a fine of $1,000 if judges find him guilty.

The Chiefs supported the criminal charges against Morgan, encouraging the police to impart the “harshest penalty possible” to prevent any similar incidents.

The situation was really serious, but fans used it to joke on Twitter.

“The NFL is investigating where the laser pointer directed at Tom Brady during the AFC title game came from,” wrote a Twitter user. “To figure out who was rooting for Tom Brady to fail… investigators have narrowed their search down to everyone.”

Laser pointers are forbidden at sporting events, because they may cause lasting damage to the eye. Morgan is banned from the Arrowhead Stadium indefinitely. His efforts didn’t affect Brady, and the Patriots defeated the Chiefs 37-31. They even won the Super Bowl.
