Watch: Edelman Hype Up Kent State Graduates After Receiving Degree

Patriots receiver Julian Edelman has three championship wins and a Super Bowl MVP award in his resume. He added another title to the resume: college graduate.

Edelman graduated from Kent State University on Saturday, and finished the degree he started working toward in 2006.

Two days prior to the ceremony, he took to his Instagram account to announce his achievement.

“I believe it is important to finish what you start,” the wide receiver wrote Thursday. “This Saturday, I will be walking with my fellow Kent State graduates. Completing what I started back in 06. It is important to me that I make my parents proud as I fulfill a promise that I made to them that I would, one day, be a college graduate. I also want to set a great example for my daughter, so that when I talk about the importance of a college degree, I can show her that earning my degree was important to me. To my fellow Golden Flash graduates, Congratulations!”

This was a big day for the Patriots wide receiver.“It is important to me that I make my parents proud as I fulfill a promise that I made to them that I would, one day, be a college graduate,” Edelman said. “I also want to set a great example for my daughter, so that when I talk about the importance of a college degree, I can show her that earning my degree was important to me.”

His current and former teammates wrote a few comments, and let’s just say that Brady’s comment was the most hilarious thing you will read these days.

“Who ever knew it could take 14 years to graduate college?”

“Those finals were a killer huh? I’m sure the semester was challenging!” Rob Ninkovich noted.

Kelly Olynyk said, “Started from the bottom now we here,” and Jason and Devin McCourty wrote, “They were all graduating elementary when you started lol.”

Edelman was really nervous before the big day, and he said it was more like a “pre-game butterflies.”

The receiver kept the promise he made many years ago. Keep up the good job, Edelman!
