Edelman Bemoans Tom Brady’s Short ‘Leash’ In Hilarious Instagram Post

We definitely love seeing Julian Edelman and Tom Brady “attack” each other on social media. This time Edelman posted a photo of their recent workout, and it seems like the GOAT was in full control.

“After 10 years you’d think I would have a longer leas in the offseason,” the caption read. What did Brady do? He just commented, “Nope.” So classy.

Edelman and Brady have a really special relationship, and they are more like brothers. In the offseason after Edelman’s rookie season in 2009, the receiver did his best to get Brady’s attention and trust. He asked his agents to find him a place near Manhattan Beach, California, so that Brady could call him.

Edelman was well aware of the fact that Brady worked out in LA with Wes Welker and Randy Moss. He wanted to join the trio, and that was his only way to get close to Brady.

The receiver was sitting next to Brady in the locker room and became his gofer. “I kind of did anything for him,” Edelman said in 2015. “If he needed something, I’ll go get ’em.”

By the fourth season, Edelman was already having lunch at Brady’s house. Their relationship got really strong over the years. If you ask TB12, he will say that Jules is like a little brother to him.

“He’s always been kind of like my little brother, in a good way,” Brady said in one of his interviews. “I don’t have a little brother, but he’s kind of like a little brother and he knows how much I love him.”

“It was funny, the transition from hoping to get a text to now Jules is his guy,” Edelman’s childhood friend Spenser Garrison said.

Edelman needed some time to earn Brady’s trust, but he made it. “Yeah, we have a great relationship, Jules and I, and I trust him so much,” Brady said. “We’ve put in so many hours together.”

What does Frank Edelman think about this?

“Jules and Tom are a lot alike,” he said. “They’re both extremely competitive people. I don’t know exactly, I only assume what I think I know, but when Jules ended up with the Patriots, I think Tom was in a weird way like, ‘This guy is as competitive as me.'”
