Kyle Lowry One Of Three Surprise Alternative Trade Targets To Anthony Davis

In the wake of their most important off season, The Lakers, in effort to improve their scoring roster, will review other options in case their bumbling pursuit of Anthony Davis falls through.

Latest reports suggest that Los Angeles Lakers, allegedly have three other trade targets if the organization did not suceed to acquire the New Orleans Pelicans All-Star big man Davis.

LeBron James’ debut season in L.A. was covered in controversy and missing the playoffs was a bitter disappointment for the franchise. Numerous reports have suggested that LeBron James would not be considered in the trade talks.

Anthony Davis is seemingly their top target, having tried and failed to strike a deal with the New Orleans Pelicans. But the Pelicans reportedly have zero interest in trading Davis to Los Angeles. As Sean Deveney of Sporting News reported, the Lakers have already alternative plans if they fail to strike a deal for Davis.

According to Deveney, L.A. is targeting the likes of Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal, Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry and Utah Jazz forward Derrick Favors.

“The Lakers have other players they’re targeting in trades, according to league sources. Chief among them is Wizards guard Bradley Beal, though with the Wizards not yet hiring a front office honcho, no decision has been made whether to trade Beal. But LA will be in position to make an attractive offer if Beal is put on the block.”

Lakers have surprising interest for the 33-year-old Lowry who is entering the final year of his $33.5 million contract. He could be available if the Raptors lose Kawhi Leonard in free agency.

The Lakers also keep a close eye on Derrick Favors, who is coming off a career-best shooting season. Utah Jazz star is currently the longest tenured Jazz player on the roster, having spent 8 full seasons in Utah along with 22 games of his rookie season in 2010-11. He ranks fourth in career rebounds in franchise history, seventh in blocks and is in the top ten for several other major categories including win shares and games played in a Jazz uniform.
