Patriots Sign Undrafted DII Cornerback as Wide Receiver in Latest Effort to Embarrass the League

The New England Patriots signed a bunch of great players, and this time they decided to trust an undrafted wide receiver.

Head coach Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots know how to recognize real talent, and they look for these players in the oddest places. The team dug into Division II and the Bemidji State Beavers to get their new special teams ace.

The Patriots signed wide receiver, returner, and special teamer Gunner Olszweski on Thursday, and some say they hate him. Well, let’s just say that he will be the new machine gun for the team.

Olszweski is a record-breaking defensive back in college. He won his conference’s Defensive Player of the Year and made first team All-Conference as special teamer. In New England, the head coach turned him into wide receiver. His speed and soft hands will be of great help for the team.

“The Patriots have signed undrafted rookie WR/PR Gunner Olszewski of Division II Bemidji State (Minnesota). Olszewski, who played CB in college, was present at today’s voluntary organized team activity, wearing No. 72,” Mike Reiss tweeted.

Olszweski will probably be a return man or gunner on special teams. Some would ask… why wasn’t he drafted?

“So you’re saying a guy named Gunner is going to be the next Patriots gunner?”

Olswesky is the new weapon of the GOAT. Tom Brady is still here, and he won’t go anywhere.

“The team, sources told BSJ, has not ruled out the possibility that Brady could retire after this season, especially if he wins another Super Bowl,” Greg Bedard wrote of Brady’s future plans. “That would give him four in his final six seasons and would trump the three he won his first four seasons as a starter. Seven total Super Bowl titles would break the franchise tie with the Pittsburgh Steelers, leave Brady two titles clear of any other player, and would represent a largely unbreakable record.”

The New England Patriots are off to another big win. They will sure succeed in doing it. They have already won six Super Bowls, and the team is ready for their seventh Lombardi Trophy.
