NBA Media Reacts To First Half Of Game 1 Of The NBA Finals

The NBA Finals are here, and it’s better than expected. Things got really hot in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, and the Golden State Warriors made quite a show. The Warriors made the finals for five consecutive seasons, and the Toronto Raptors gave them something to think about this year. It’s a close game and the players are heading to the locker rooms. Analysts say this was one of the most exciting opening halves of the Finals.

Stephen Curry was brilliant in the first half. The guard had three quick three-pointers and an NBA record. It’s actually another record for him. The Raptors played as an organized team, and Kawhi Leonard contributed to the big game. They played like a well-organized team, and the second half is expected to be even hotter than this.

Analysts noticed that Curry was the Warriors’ entire offense in the first quarter of the game with his three three-pointers and a couple of free throws that kept the Golden State up. These numbers made him the first player in the NBA history to make 100 three-pointers in the NBA Finals.

Curry, Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala, Draymond Green and Jordan Bell started for the Golden State. Kevin Looney and DeMarcus Cousins got center minutes, and Ker likes to bring the former off the bench and the latter can’t be given big minutes at the start. That’s how Bell got his minutes.

Fans are great, and they deliver a brilliant support for their teams. “I’ve never seen a crowd here like this. Amped up for every possession. Stoked every time the Raptors launch a three-pointer … and go berserk if they go in,” Ryan Wolstat tweeted.

The Warriors built their strategy around Kawhi Leonard, and he was held in check all the time. The Golden State pushed a few players on the floor, and they don’t even belong in the Finals. But, their bench looks bad at the moment, and the team had no choice at this point. Jordan Bell and Alfonzo McKinnie had to play this game.

Conor Letourneau has the final details. “END OF Q1: Raptors up 25-21 on the Warriors, and this Toronto crowd is on its feet. Raptors held Golden State to just 7-for-23 shooting (3-for-10 from three).”
