Irving To Lakers: LeBron Told Of Stunning Development Ahead Of Free Agency

Will Kyrie Irving go to Los Angeles this summer?

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith believes there’s zero chance that Irving ends up playing alongside LeBron James. Smith talked to a person close to Irving’s family.

The Boston Celtics are out of the playoffs at the moment, and they are now focused on the upcoming free agency. Some say that Irving will leave the team and join the New York Knicks. The Lakers were also considered an option. However, Smith had a big ‘no’ for LeBron James and his team.

“From what I’m being told, it’s not going to happen,” he said on ESPN’s First Take. “I got a text message from folks close to Kyrie’s family within the hour as we were teasing the subject.

“Quote: ‘There is now way in hell he’s going to L.A.’ I don’t give a damn what anybody says, note that down for us right now please. He ain’t going to L.A., that’s what they said. I would tell you that if he ended up in L.A. with LeBron, it would be formidable. I think that would make them final four in the Western Conference, meaning they’d at very least get to the Conference semi-finals. But from everything that I’ve been hearing over the last few days, Kyrie Irving is heading to NYC.

“Kyrie Irving is heading to Madison Square Garden with Kevin Durant. His people in his inner circle are trying to bring the Nets into the mix, but clearly New York is the destination. The likelihood is that it will be MSG and I am told James Dolan himself has basically whatever the hell you want. ‘I will move the hell out of the way, I will give you whatever you want. I’ll take care of you.’

“To the Kyrie’s and Kevin Durant’s of the world so it appears to be a foregone conclusion. I don’t know whether that’s true or not, neither Kevin Durant or Kyrie Irving are talking about these things but I’m talking about what the belief is: They are destined to go to MSG.”

Let’s see if Smith is right about this.
