Kevin Durant To Lakers: LeBron James Warned Of NIGHTMARE Stopping Warriors Star Joining Him

Kevin Durant is one of the few stars linked to LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. LeBron’s team will try to sign another All-Star this summer, and the Golden State Warriors player is one of their targets. The same applies to Kyrie Irving, Kawhi Leonard and a few other players.

Is Durant the right fit alongside LeBron? ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith believes Durant would struggle in Los Angeles.

Durant will have to make a decision regarding his future as he is set to hit free agency. Several sources have confirmed that he considers leaving the Golden State, adding that LA is an option. Moreover,t he team has enough cap space for a max salary slot.

The New York Knicks are also involved in rumors, and they are also interested in Durant. In fact, they are considered favorites.

The Los Angeles Clippers were mentioned as suitors for Durant. If he decides to sign with the team, he will be able to battle against LeBron in Los Angeles.

But, joining the Lakers is a completely different scenario. Pairing with LeBron James is one of the ways to win a championship. However, Smith is convinced that Durant would struggle mentally if he joins LeBron in LA.

“I think the Lakers are the last place Kevin Durant should want to go for this reason,” he said on ESPN’s First Take. “Clearly he’s looking to eclipse LeBron, not help LeBron remain afloat. We all know if he went to L.A., he would be viewed as a secondary dude to LeBron because LeBron got their first, LeBron’s a three-time champion. The very thing that he wants to avoid, he would be inviting. And that would be an absolute emotional nightmare for KD. The last place he needs to go is to the Lakers. The best place would be the Clippers.”

This summer is really important for LeBron and the Lakers. They are missing the playoffs, and LeBron has a lot of free time. The team is now focused on hiring a head coach and maybe a director of basketball operations. Who is coming to fill in these positions?
