LeBron’s Instagram Activity and Rumored Recent Meeting Fuel ‘Kyrie Irving to Lakers’ Buzz

The free agency period is getting really close, and the Los Angeles Lakers have set their eyes on a few players. Kyrie Irving is one of the players that may go to Los Angeles.

The Lakers plan on landing a big name this offseason, and LeBron James is in full recruiting mode. LeBron has to play alongside another player, because that’s the only way to become a contender.

Irving has already talked to LeBron, and the Lakers star made a big Instagram move. The Boston Celtics star promised to re-sign with his team, but he may join a different team this summer. The Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks are top favorites for him, and the Lakers have also been mentioned in the talks.

“Kobe’s been talking to Kyrie,” Stephen A. Smith. said on the show. “Obviously you know Kobe and Kyrie are very close. Kobe’s been talking to Kyrie. We don’t know if Kyrie would consider the Lakers. Although I’ve been told by folks close to Kyrie there ain’t no way in hell he’s going to the Lakers to join LeBron, but I’m being told don’t rule that out.

“Of course the Clippers think they got a shot at Kawhi and now Brooklyn think they now got a shot at Kyrie and Kevin Durant because they’re anticipating having enough cap space for two max players as well, which was the impetus and motivation behind the New York Knicks ultimately trading KP to clear $41million in cap space so they would have over $73m available and they’d be able to get two max players.”

Briand Windhorst also said that Irving may join the Lakers.

“If you would have asked me six months ago, I would have said the door was closed and locked – that wasn’t going to happen,” he said on ESPN. “But over the last few months there has no doubt been a thawing between Kyrie and LeBron. Kyrie has become more open to joining the Lakers and has done some research on the organisation. That said, with Magic leaving, that was a guy he felt a connection to. With great opportunities in Brooklyn and New York, plus Boston trying to keep him. I think the Lakers are low on his list, but they’re on his list and that gives them a fighting chance. Boston have still got to be worried about the Lakers and their Kyrie pursuit.”
