New Update Emerges On Robert Kraft’s Solicitation Trial

Patriots owner Robert Kraft is involved in a major solicitation scandal, but his day in court won’t happen in near future.

Judge Leonard Hanser granted Palm Beach County, Fla., attorney’s request to delay the start of the trial, as confirmed by Palm Beach Post’s Jorge Milian. Hanser’s ruling will give prosecutors more time to appeal his decision to suppress the spa video of the Patriots owner because police officers obtained illegaly.

Hanser’s order puts Kraft’s trial on hold. Florida’s 15th Judicial Circuit Court would hear the appeal, but Kraft’s legal team wants the case certified as a ‘matter of great public importance’ and moved up the judicial ladder to the Fourth District Court of Appeals, one step below the state’s top court,” as noted by The Boston Globe’s John R. Ellement.

Police officers reveal that the video showed Robert Kraft receiving sex acts for money at Orchids of Asia Day Spa in Jupiter on Jan. 19 and Jan. 20. The Patriots owner was charged with two misdemeanor counts of solicitation, and the charges are related to the widespread prostitution and human-trafficking sting that involved several Florida massage parlors.

The Patriots owner apologized for the scandal, but said he had never been engaged in any illegal activities.

“In deference to the judicial process, I have remained silent these past several weeks. To correct some of the misinformation surrounding this matter, my attorney made his first public comments on Friday night. I would like to use this opportunity to say something that I have wanted to say for four weeks.

“I am truly sorry. I know I have hurt and disappointed my family, my close friends, my co-workers, our fans and many others who rightfully hold me to a higher standard.

“Throughout my life, I have always tried to do the right thing. The last thing I would ever want to do is disrespect another human being. I have extraordinary respect for women; my morals and my soul were shaped by the most wonderful woman, the love of my life, who I was blessed to have as my partner for 50 years.

“As I move forward, I hope to continue to use the platform with which I have been blessed to help others and try to make a difference. I expect to be judged not by my words, but by my actions. And through those actions, I hope to regain your confidence and respect.”
