Lakers star LeBron James has contacted several NBA stars ahead of the upcoming free agency period. The Los Angeles Lakers will have to strengthen their roster, and LeBron is in full recruiting mode. The free agency is important for the front office. The 2018-19 season was terrible for the Lakers, and they need to improve every aspect of their organization. They lost Magic Johnson, and Luke Walton was replaced with Frank Vogel. So, LeBron promised to help the team get another star, and he was spotted with a top NBA Draft prospect.

ESPN’s recent report suggests that LeBron has been talking with Kawhi Leonard, Jimmy Butler and many other players. The Lakers star was seen with another great player, and he met with a top prospect in the 2019 NBA Draft.

“From what I understand, [LeBron] has already begun the recruiting process,” Brian Windhorst reported.“I’ve heard he has had contact with Kawhi Leonard.

“I’ve heard he’s had contact with Jimmy Butler. There’s no tampering enforcement by players. And while Magic Johnson – the guy who got in trouble for tampering before – LeBron is tamper-in-chief of the Lakers right now. I don’t know if texts, calls and dinner with LeBron is enough for the Lakers to overcome the hurdles they are going to have. I don’t think the Lakers can be choosy. If I’m honest, I think the Lakers really have to look at the trade market.”

LeBron spent some time with star point guard Darius Garland who is considered a top-five pick in the NBA Draft.

Los Angeles has the No. 4 overall pick, and Garland is one of their targets.

LeBron has already made headlines with his Instagram comments. The Garland-to-the-Lakers speculation is getting hotter every day, and LeBron commented on his post.

“No need to tream no more lil bro! It’s about to become a reality!” he wrote.

Garland was a five-star point guard in the 2018 class. He played one season at Vanderbilt, and then left for the NBA Draft. In his 2018-19 season for the Commodores, he averaged 16 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists per game.

The NBA Draft will take place Thursday, June 20. Some say the lakers will use their top pick to trafe for an NBA star, but we believe that LeBron is interested in playing with Garland.
