Report: Kyrie Irving Open To Joining LeBron James In Lakers

There are so many rumors regarding the Lakers and the NBA Draft got people talking. The Lakers will try to land another big name, and Kyrie Irving is one of the names involved in the talks.

The Lakers cleared some cap space and planned to sign two superstars. They inked a deal with LeBron James. Bringing LeBron to Los Angeles was of big importance, and the team has enough space to sign another star player.

Kyrie Irving demanded to be traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers because he wanted to lead his own team, but everything is fine between these two.

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst talked about the reunion of LeBron and Irving. According to him, the relationship between King James and Irving is stronger than ever and that may be enough for Irving to go to Los Angeles.

“If you would have asked me six months ago, I would have said the door was closed and locked – that wasn’t going to happen,” he said on ESPN. “But over the last few months there has no doubt been a thawing between Kyrie and LeBron. Kyrie has become more open to joining the Lakers and has done some research on the organisation. That said, with Magic leaving, that was a guy he felt a connection to. With great opportunities in Brooklyn and New York, plus Boston trying to keep him. I think the Lakers are low on his list, but they’re on his list and that gives them a fighting chance. Boston have still got to be worried about the Lakers and their Kyrie pursuit.”

This doesn’t change the fact that some sources said that Irving doesn’t even think of joining the Lakers. The Celtics still hope to see Irving on the flood next year. Losing him won’t be the best scenario they can hope for.

Stephen A. Smith said that Irving would never play alongside LeBron. “From what I’m being told, it’s not going to happen,” he said on ESPN’s First Take. “I got a text message from folks close to Kyrie’s family within the hour as we were teasing the subject. ‘There is now way in hell he’s going to L.A.’ I don’t give a damn what anybody says, note that down for us right now please. He ain’t going to L.A., that’s what they said.”
