Report: LeBron James Makes Pick Between Ty Lue And Monty Williams

The Los Angeles Lakers have to make a decision regarding their new head coach. It seems like LeBron James has made a pick, and ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski revealed the details. Is Ty Lue in the game?

LeBron isn’t involved in the matter, but Wojnarowski noted that LeBron supports Lue during his appearance on NBA Countdown.

LeBron’s former coach made sure everyone knows that he is there to coach the Lakers.

“I think one of the messages Ty Lue wants to get through to Rob Pelinka is, ‘I’m not here to be LeBron James’ coach,” Wojnarowski explained. “I’m here to coach the Lakers. I’m going to coach the whole group.’ I think one of the misnomers of Ty Lue’s time in Cleveland was, listen, he challenged LeBron James. He was hard on LeBron James at times. He’s not there to just be his caddy, and I do think that commanded LeBron’s respect. And I think that will be a big part of the conversation have.”

Lue’s interview at the Lakers practice facility in El Segundo went well and he left a lasting impression on both parties involved in the conversation as reported by sources close to the team.

Marc Stein of the New York Times wrote about the empty coaching position in the team.

“Who, then, will the Lakers hire?” he wrote. “The name most frequently cited in league coaching circles is the very available Tyronn Lue. Lue, of course, is a former Laker who is better known for having coached LeBron James for two-and-a-half seasons in Cleveland. The presumed acceptance he would have from James, who is about to begin his first postseason as a spectator since 2005, would appear to give Lue a significant advantage over the rest of the field.”

The Lakers better play smart with Lue. Is he the right fit for the coaching position? Will his experience with LeBron James help the team turn into contenders last year? There’s only one way to find out whether Lue is the right position to replace Walton. Let’s get this man hired.

LeBron likes him, and the other players will undoubtedly like him, too.
