Report: LeBron James’ Thoughts About Lakers Trade Rumors

The Los Angeles Lakers struggle in every aspect, and they may lose LeBron James, too. But, their star player decided to respond to the the trade rumor attached to his name.

“Jalen Rose said the same thing myself and even Max Kellerman said. [Rose said] ‘He should ask for a trade,'” ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith said on Monday’s Get Up. “In other words, we don’t know. We don’t believe that’s what LeBron James will do. Matter of fact, I’m told it’s not what he will do.

“I’m certainly told…the Lakers will not trade him either, even though there’s been people in Hollywood, not basketball people, but people in Hollywood in Jeanie Buss’ ear telling her, ‘Get rid of him. Trade him. Just rebuild because ya’ll ain’t going anywhere anyway.’ But again, he doesn’t have a no-trade clause, so you could conceivably move him. That’s not something they’re going to do. It’s not something he’s thinking about doing.”

LeBron inked a four-year deal worth $154 million last July. His debut season was terrible, and the Lakers missed the playoffs for the sixth consecutive year. LeBron missed the playoffs for the first time since 2005.

“I wonder what it’d look like if the first round went back to best-of-five because [six] of the eight series won’t go six games,” Rose said of the playoffs without LeBron. “It also has me thinking what a 1-16 seeding would look like if we combined the conferences.

“There is a void. It’s almost like you walk out the door to get in the car and ‘Where are my keys?’ You have to go back in the house to get them. He’s a notable, iconic, philanthropic leader. To not have him in these game it’s going to affect some people’s interest who are casual fans.”

King James heard all the rumors regarding his trade, and decided to put an end to that.

THAT. IS. NOT. TRUE,” LeBron said on Instagram. “It’s not true at all! It’s just not! I’m actually at the Lakers facility right now… HAHAHAHA!”

There you go. LeBron isn’t going anywhere. He’s just happy with his current role on the Lakers’ roster.
