Trade News: Anthony Davis To Lakers Shock Revelation

Pelicans star Anthony Davis will probably leave the New Orleans Pelicans this summer, and he may be engaged in a huge trade deal.

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst says the Pelicans aren’t interested in agreeing to a deal with the Los Angeles Lakers. The Pelicans won the No. 1 pick, and they will probably select Zion Williamson on June 20.

“It depends on what the Pelicans’ focus is,” he said on ESPN’s The Jump. “If the Pelicans want to go all young and build around Zion then I think the Knicks have the best package offer. They can offer the No 3 pick, they can offer a couple young players they have on their roster right now. Kevin Knox, Dennis Smith Jr., Mitchell Robinson, the two first round picks they got from the Dallas Mavericks. All of those things could come together.

“From what I understand, the Pelicans are not interested in making a deal with the Los Angeles Lakers. Maybe if they had got the Zion pick, but the Pelicans got that. The Lakers have a nice ribeye but they don’t have the fillet. I think the Lakers are still out of position, even getting the No 4 pick.”

“Boston’s trade package lost steam last night because while we’re all celebrating Memphis, that pick would have gone to Boston had it moved backwards. Boston would have had an extra lottery pick to offer and the pick they had from Sacramento did not move up, which we didn’t expect it to. So instead of having two lottery picks to offer, now they only have one and it’s the 14th pick and it’s not so good.

“The big problem with Boston is, can you go all in on an Anthony Davis offer ahead of the draft – because you want to trade draft picks to New Orleans to do it – when you don’t know whether Kyrie is staying. Kyrie is under no obligation to tell them whether he’s staying as to use his own words, ‘ask me July 1’.

“The more I look at this, the more I think the Knicks – if they want to go for it – have an offer. Most importantly, they can go ahead and draft RJ Barrett and celebrate it and still then make that trade offer after July 1 when they find out what Kyrie does and what Kevin Durant does. It works for them, it works against the Boston Celtics.”
