Watch: LeBron Goes Full Dad Mode By Coaching LeBron Jr. At Nike Tournament

LeBron James spent some time at Pacers Athletic Center and attended an event organized by Nike Elite Youth Basketball League tournament. LeBron watched his son play for California-based Strive For Greatness against Michigan based Bates Fundamentals. LeBron Jr. was doing a really good job on the floor.

There was enough room for the king, and the security set up two rows of chairs for him. The media was kept away from the baseline, and everything looked really well. However, LeBron couldn’t see the scoreboard placed over his head.

What did he do? He stood up and walked out to check the score and just stayed out there. You could see him on the court and the sideline. The Lakers star took over the game, and turned the game into something exciting.

Was this the NBA Playoffs? Of course it wasn’t, but LeBron made it look like a big deal. It was a big deal for him. His son was playing a game, and he coached his team. The fun part comes when you realize that LeBron wasn’t just coaching his son. He was coaching his teammates, too.

So, we had LeBron walking the sideline and giving post-up advice. He instructed defenders, called traps and directed inbounds plays. LeBron even hectored officials.

Bronny hit a jumper and was fouled, and his father flexed and yelled, “Annnnnddddd onnneee! And one, boy!” When one of the Strive For Greatness players was called for a foul, the Lakers star implored him not to play defense with his hands. When the squad was playing out the final seconds of the game, LeBron told Bronny to dribble out the clock. He said, “No shot. No shot.”

This may have been over the top, but we loved all the energy out there. We can see pretty much every parent doing the same, but LeBron was special.

Bronny was really brilliant on the floor, and he presented a nice set of skills. He doesn’t have his father’s size and athleticism, but sure has a smooth shooting stroke and handle. LeBron’s son scored 11 points, but lacked assertiveness.  He was afraid to make a mistake.
