Watch: Tom Brady And Teammates Made Epic Show In Annual Best Buddies Game

The Best Buddies Challenge event weekend started off May 31, and it’s organized at Harvard Stadium. The Tom Brady Best Buddies Football Challenge was the opening event of the weekend, and fans had a lot of time watching the Patriots quarterback hit the field with Super Bowl LIII MVP Julian Edelman and other celebrity guests. The Best Buddies participants were there, too. Spectators had some really great time.

The funds raised through the Best Buddies Challenge bring benefits to Best Buddies International. It’s the world’s largest nonprofit organization devoted to end social, physical, and economic isolation of over 200 million people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The programs are designed to help people with IDD make meaningful friendships with their peers, get successful jobs, live an independent live, improve their public speaking, self-advocacy and communication skills, and also get the respect they deserve from society.

The IDD community that Best Buddies serves includes individuals with Down Syndrome, Autism, Fragile X, Williams Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, traumatic brain injury and other undiagnosed disabilities, but let’s not forget that it isn’t limited to these groups of individuals.

Brady and Edelman were among the eight Patriots who joined Best Buddies founder Anthony Shriver, prominent supporters of the event and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The GOAT was accompanied by James White, quarterback Brian Hoyer, offensive linemen Joe Thuney, Marcus Cannon and Ted Karras and long snapper Joe Cardona. Former Patriot wide receiver Troy Brown who assists with the team’s OTAs, was there, too.

This event opened the 20th annual Best Buddies Challenge. There’s a charity bike ride, run and walk on Saturday. Brady has been part of the event for two decades.

Brady played quarterback for both team, and the personnel around him changed every quarter. The final score was the lowest priority of the event, and everyone was focused on the joy of these kids.

“It’s a great program, Best Buddies,” White said. “They’re helping people that are less fortunate than us but have the capabilities of taking care of themselves and kind of managing their own lives. So it’s pretty cool what they do.

“It’s about the buddies. And they really enjoy this event, specifically. They get to go out there and show some of their talents, as well. So it’s awesome.”
