Report: NBA Insider Drops New Update On Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant was sidelined for the last few games of the NBA Finals, but some say that he may suit up for Game 5. Durant suffered an injury in the Western Conference Semifinals against the Houston Rockets. He is a step closer to returning to the floor, but there’s still no official information regarding his status.

The Warriors lost two games to the Toronto Raptors, and they will play Game 5 on Monday.

NBA insider Sam Amick reported there’s “legitimate optimism” for Durant’s return for Game 5. It seems like the head coach will make the final decision on the star player.

“That being said, there is some legitimate optimism among the Warriors that Durant could play in Game 5,” Sam Amick added. “And they are adamant about the process here: It’s trainer Rick Celebrini who will make the call.”

“Here’s what I do know. Durant just isn’t ready. His body’s not ready. The trainers don’t believe it, he doesn’t believe it, he tried to do some stuff in practice yesterday, it didn’t work. There was frustration all around, I’m sure from Kevin about it. Steve Kerr was really clipped about it. He basically said today, ‘I’m not gonna give you any updates about Durant. I’m just gonna tell you whether he’s playing or not.’ He’s frustrated about it too,” ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported on Friday.

Durant has faced harsh criticism in the past few months. however, He is used to that.

“It’s been that way since I got here, that it’s the Warriors and KD. I understand that. And I feel like my teammates and the organization know exactly what I’ve done – on and off the court – to become a part of this culture. I know what I bring to the team,’ he added. “But I also know a lot of people from the outside don’t like to see us together. I get it. It’s hard to get away from that because I watch the games and watch the lead-up to the games and that’s all everybody is talking about. From my perspective, I want to focus on rehab, but I also want to be a fan of my teammates. I want to enjoy my teammates from a different view.”
