Warriors Take Out Classy Ad Congratulating Raptors on NBA Championship

The Golden State Warriors miss the chance to win the 2019 NBA championship, and they lost with style. The Toronto Raptors won their first title, and Stephen Curry’s team congratulated the champions on their big win.

It was a classy move, and the full-page ad in the Toronto Star was definitely a smart move.

The Warriors aren’t disappointed or frustrated. They had too many injured players, and the Raptors took the chance to win.

Many say that this was the end of the Warriors dynasty, but head coach Steve Kerr has something else to say about this.

“No. I don’t look at it or think about it in those terms,” he said. “I really don’t. Steph is going to be back next year. Draymond is going to be back. We’re going to have a bunch of players from here and we can still be really good, assuming we get some breaks health wise. Klay and KD – they can recover and can be really good again. So I don’t look at it from that standpoint at all.

“It’s hard to even picture what next year’s team will look like at this point. We’ll see how it all shakes out. We’re hoping to have both of those guys back. If that’s the case, it’ll be great. But neither one will be available for quite a while to play. So our team is going to look a lot different next year.”

Kerr is also convinced that the franchise will get DeMarcus Cousins. He said, “I think there’s a chance. I would say that the hope is that frankly that he can do a lot better financially than what we can offer him. But who knows? Every year is different. There are a lot more teams with cap room this summer than last summer. This summer is going to be a wild free agent market. We have to figure out our own situation, particularly with Klay and Kevin and all that shakes out. I can absolutely foresee a place for DeMarcus here if he wanted to come back. It’s just a question of what are his goals, what are out there for him.”
