NBA Draft: Warriors Select Jordan Poole With No. 28 Pick

The Golden State Warriors dominated the NBA for the past five seasons, and won three championships. The team made the NBA Finals each season. unfortunately, the team lost the chance to win this year’s championship and lost some of their top players to injuries. Kevin Durant ruptured his Achilles, and Klay Thompson was injured, too. According to NBA experts, this is the end of the Warriors dynasty. Now the reigning Western Conference champions made a bold move and added more power to their offensive line. Bob Myers and others selected Jordan Poole out of the University of Michigan with the No. 28 overall pick in Thursday night’s entry draft.

In his two seasons in Ann Arbor, Poole was successful in 32 percent from his attempts from beyond the arc. This makes him a perfect fit in the Patriots offensive end of the floor. Thompson is expected to miss most of the 2019-20 season. Some say he would be sidelined throughout the entire season.

The best shot of Poole’s time with the Wolverines happened in the 2018 NCAA Tournament when he shut down the Houston Cougars with a clutch three-pointer.

The Warriors will have to rebuild their roster this offseason. They are considered contenders at the moment, and the team better keep that reputation. Losing Durant and Thompson caused an irreversible damage to the roster, and the front office better hope for a positive outcome next season. If the Golden State brings every player back, they better hope for the best results. The team will definitely struggle on the floor next season. Making the playoffs? That will be hard.

The Golden State will have to be more creative this summer and find more ways to add great talent to their weak roster. It’s more than obvious that the roster is aging, and players get more expensive with each season. The front office is really strong, and the Warriors will be able to do miracles. However, they do have a tiny margin for error considering the injures they have and the salary structure. Things are getting really hot in the Golden State.
