N’Keal Harry’s Tense Draft Night Documented In Behind-The-Scenes Video

N’Keal Harry was the final pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and yes, he spend the evening sweating. Well, that sweat sure paid off. Harry may easily became the new weapon of the New England Patriots. The team drafted Harry with the 32nd overall pick in the draft. The Patriots lack offensive players, and Harry is a great match.

There’s a video of Harry’s draft night, and his nervousness isn’t something you can ignore.

However, he is happy with his current team.

“Coaches have just been trying to show me different techniques to help me get open, so I’m just trying to apply that every day when I come out here,” Harry said at Patriots OTAs last week. “That’s just my job. As a wide receiver, my job is just to get separation, get open and catch the ball. So that’s my main focus every time I step out there on every play I take part in.

“I just want to do whatever I can to be successful and to help the team win. Whatever Coach asks of me, I’ll do it, whether that’s on the inside, whether that’s in the slot. If they want to put me in the backfield, it doesn’t matter. I’ll do whatever I need to do.”

When head coach Bill Belichick called him, Harry couldn’t hide his excitement.

“It means the world to me,” Harry said after the draft. “For him to have that much faith in me and to have that much trust in me, it just makes me want to work that much harder. So, I’m going to come in with a workhouse mindset and get better every day.”

Harry has received nothing but words of praise from everyone, including Maurice Moton.

“As a result, Brady may find a new favorite target in wideout N’Keal Harry,” Bleacher Report’s Moton wrote. “He’s a 6’4”, 213-pounder who’s equipped to outmuscle defenders at the top of his routes and haul in contested catches. The Arizona State product can also line up on the inside as a mismatch against small slot defenders or beat less physical perimeter cornerbacks.

“Though Harry ran a 4.53-second 40-yard dash at the combine, he’s capable of escaping defenders after the catch with a mean stiff-arm. The rookie will expose defensive backs who have issues wrapping up on takedowns.”
