Patriots Share Awesome Photos From Day 1 Minicamp

The New England Patriots returned to Gillette Stadium for the mandatory three-day minicamp, and had an awesome session. The reining champions showed off their sharp skills, and the rookies were great, too.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady skipped out on voluntary practices, but joined his teammates for the minicamp. He has already built a good relationship with N’Keal Harry, andthis may be the new quarterback-receiver duo to rock the NFL. Brady also worked with Demaryius Thomas and Dontrelle Inman.

Rob Gronkowski retired earlier in the offseason, and the Patriots rely on Ben Watson and Matt LaCosse. Austin Seferian-Jenkins was released by the team. He didn’t even show up for practice.

Day 1 of minicamp: ✅

Watson knows pretty much everything about the Patriots system, but he won’t join the team in the first four games of the regular season.

Isaiah Wynn didn’t join the team for practice, and TB12 was left without his blindside protctor from last year.

But, Braxton Berrios was great. He will have to compete to earn his spot on the roster, and it looks like the player is trying really hard. He had the right moves and skills for the session. The 5-foot-9 slot receiver spent his rookie season on injured reserve, but he was one of the most efficient performers on Day 1. Berrios caught a long touchdown pass from Brian Hoyer during the team’s 7-on-7 drills.

“It was just a good ball, and he put it where I could catch it,” said Berrios.

The receiver hauled in another touchdown pass from Hoyer in 11-on-11s, and was an awesome pass catcher and punt returner. Berrios will have to prove a lot in the next three months, and he definitely had a good start.

“Honestly, I learned a lot,” Berrios said. “I grew a lot in all phases of being a football player and being a person and just meshing with everybody in the building. I got so much better from then to now overall just knowing everything — learning everything, let’s put it that way. … (But) I don’t take any of the knowledge for granted. I still study like everything is brand new.”
