Report: Growing Number Of NBA Insiders Think Kawhi Leonard Joins Lakers

Things are getting really hot in Los Angeles, and the Lakers nation is ready to welcome Kawhi Leonard. The free agency is approaching, and the Lakers are now considered favorites. The team wasn’t even mentioned in the talks, but there’s an “increasing number of league insiders” who believe that Leonard will join LeBron James and Anthony Davis in Los Angeles. That’s what Marc Stein of The New York Times says.

Leonard, LeBron and Davis will create the best trio in NBA history. He and LeBron have combined for five Finals MVP Awards. If Leonard signs with the Los Angeles Lakers, the team will have the three best players in the league. Yes, the Lakers will have the best offensive and defensive players in the NBA at the same time.

“Things change fast in #thisleague: With free agency a day and change away, it’s the Lakers who have convinced Las Vegas — and an increasing number of league insiders — that they are LA’s true threat to limiting Kawhi Leonard’s Raptors career to a single season. Not the Clippers”

“How high is the bar for the Clippers now? They might not only have to beat out Toronto … they might have to convince Kevin Durant to choose the Clippers to then convince Kawhi to choose the Clippers over the Lakers. League sources insist that the Laker threat is that significant”

“The next week is going to absolutely fascinating on the Kawhi front alone. The Clippers have to beat out the newly minted champions and the lords of Los Angeles. The Lakers, meanwhile, firmly believe they’ve got Toronto (and anyone else) beat in the Kawhi Sweepstakes.”

Things won’t go really easy. Leonard wanted to meet with Jeanie Buss and Magic Johnson. Well, the NBA won’t allow Johnson to attend the meeting because he is out of the front office.

The Clippers and Raptors will offer good deals, too. Leonard is a Canadian icon so he would love to keep things that way. Well, he better play smart. Joining LeBron and Davis is the way to go. No other formula is acceptable, and we have our thumbs up.
