Report: Kevin Durant, Kyrie ‘Met Twice’ To Discuss Teaming Up

Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are among the players who are set to become free agents this summer. There’s an ongoing discussion regarding their future plans. Irving has been linked to the Brooklyn Nets and Kevin Durant may join the New York Knicks. But, there’s also a possibility that these two end up playing on the same team.

Both players are temperamental and enigmatic. Irving left the Cleveland Cavaliers to join the Boston Celtics just because he didn’t “owe anybody s**t.”

Remember when Durant used his secret social media account to comment on his reasons for leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder? He did it in the name of a “fan.”

“Whatever Kevin is planning to do,” says an NBA exec close to Durant, “he is going to change his mind at least 25 times before he actually does it.”

This makes things tougher than you think. Where will Irving go? Everything will change within eight days. Most NBA teams will go after a big fish this week.

Kawhi Leonard is currently the most popular free agent. He won his second Finals MVP, remember? Durant will probably miss out the next season as he recovers from his Achilles injury.

Durant and Irving have met twice in the past few weeks to discuss the possibility to play on the same team. This idea was born during their time together on the US national team.

The first meeting happened in the Bay Area while Durant recovered from his calf injury. The second meeting took place in New York after Durant had his surgery to repair his ruptured Achilles.

We don’t really know if Durant’s calf injury increased his risk of rupturing his Achilles tendon. Did the Golden State Warriors warn him about the danger?

It’s more than obvious that Durant isn’t happy with his team. Coach Steve Kerr knew that Durant couldn’t injure himself anymore. Well, he made a wrong assumption.

One league exec said, “He’s really pissed off at the Warriors.”

So, things can get really messy in the Golden State. Will Durant leave Stephen Curry and the others? It will be a long summer.
