Report: Paul Pierce’s Patriots Allegiance Has Expiration Date Tied To Tom Brady

Paul Pierce is a vocal supporter of the New England Patriots, but it seems like his love for the team will soon end. Oh, no, it is not what you are thinking.

It looks like the Boston Celtics legend is here for Tom Brady, and he will stay here until Brady retires. Of course, the quarterback won’t retire in near future as he promised to play until he is 45 or so. But, Pierce’s comments sure got us thinking. While Brady is the best player on the roster, the Patriots still have so much to offer. Julian Edelman was named the Super Bowl MVP, and the other guys had their contribution to the big win. None of this works for Pierce as he a Brady fan. That’s all.

Pierce talked to the Boston Herald’s Steve Bullpett last week, and used the opportunity that he will change his NFL allegiance from New England to the Los Angeles Rams once the GOAT retires. Pierce comes from LA, but Boston has been his home for almost two decades. That’s the same time Brady has spent in the NFL. Is this a coincidence? Let’s not forget that the Patriots defeated the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII, so it doesn’t really make a sense. Will Pierce really root for Brady’s rivals?

“When Brady retires is when I retire and go to the Rams,” Pierce said. “When Brady goes, then I’m coming home.”

I guess yes.

The Rams represented Pierce’s city in the period between 1946 and 1995 when he flew to St. Louis. The Oakland Raiders called Los Angeles home in the years between 1982 and 1995. The Rams and Raiders left LA three years before the Celtics legend arrived in Boston, and the Patriots become a dynasty in the very same period.

“Everybody hated me wearing my Patriots stuff around here,” he said. “It was an ugly game, but, shoot, they got it done. They got it done.”

Brady made it clear. He won’t retire until 45, and his trainer, Alex Guerrero, believes that the quarterback will play longer than that. What’s your prediction?
