Report: Tom Brady’s Final Contract More A Curiosity Than A Controversy

Tom Brady’s contract is a top priority. TB12 has never played a season game in the “walk year” of a deal. Brady has always been interested in the game. The contract thing was never his topic.

On Jimmy Kimmel, Brady sort of gave a hilarious answer. He didn’t want to talk about his salary. “That’s a good question. That’s usually, when I don’t want to answer a question, I always say, ‘That’s a good question.’ I think the thing I’ve always felt for me in my life, winning has been a priority. And my wife [model Gisele Bundchen] makes a lot of money. I’m a little smarter than you think.”

Adam Schefter talked about Brady’s situation with the team.

“He’s going into his last year, and let me say this, I don’t know anything. … On Brady, there has not been a lot of conversation that I have heard,” Schefter said. “I just think from a common sense standpoint, when you look at his deals, he’s done [extensions] earlier in the offseason. We’re now into June and he hasn’t done it yet, so the whole thing is interesting to me and I don’t know how it will get resolved.”

Does Brady talk about his contract?

“That’s none of your business,” Brady joked when media members asked him about it. “I’ve never really talked about my contract or anything like that so, I don’t really want to start doing that now.”

TB12 thanked everyone for their support throughout his career.

“I have a family at home and I think they get some of my time and energy,” Brady said. “My wife is a very ambitious woman and she travels a lot, so just trying to divide some responsibility at home. She supports me a lot, my family supports me a lot and my kids aren’t getting any younger. So just trying to spend the time with them when I can and still get the other things done that I need to get done and be ready to go when it’s time to go.

“I think trying to get ready individually and collectively, everyone has different things they have to do and I think our coaches do a great job with preparing our guys. Individually, guys are coming out here trying to get better. I’m trying to do the same thing. When we come together like this, it gives us a chance to see where we’re all at.”

The last deal will be really important. It provides a timeline for the quarterback’s final act.
