Watch: LeBron James Shares A First Look At The Nike LeBron 17

The NBA Finals ended with the Toronto Raptors’ victory and it’s time to leave all that behind and start preparing for the 2019-20 season. LeBron James is also expected to return to the postseason in his 17th campaign. Along with that campaign will come a 17th signature sneaker, which James previewed earlier today.

While throwing some balls on the court, James took a moment to share a short video of the Nike LeBron 17. Although he didn’t state that the shoes are his next signature model, retail source has confirmed with Sole Collector that it is indeed the LeBron 17. It’s difficult to catch all of the details, but knit construction, a reversed jewel Swoosh and visible hybrid cushioning can be seen in the clip.

Over the course of James’ career, he has worn sneakers with lots of different motifs and inspired by a lot of things – from his favorite cereals, movies and cartoons to the favored cities and cultures that his global travels had opened his teenage phenom eyes to. By the time he had reached his 10th model, there was a bank of coveted classics instantly familiar to sneakerheads by simple nicknames such as “South Beach,” “Dunkman,” “Fruity Pebbles,” “Red Carpet” and “Big Apple.”

James ended up wearing 51 different versions of the LeBron 15 and the attention on his footwear, along with the retail boost provided by the limited-time offerings, led Nike to continue the program with LeBron 16, a shoe that features a similar knit structure to that of the LeBron 15.

We weren’t expecting to get a first look at the Nike LeBron 17 so soon, as the new models typically don’t hit retail until late summer or early fall. A release date hasn’t been announced, but we’ll update you as soon as we get some more information.
