Watch: Moment When Kevin Duran Re-Injured Leg In Game 5

Kevin Durant had to leave Game 5 of the NBA Finals, but his team still defeated the Toronto Raptors. Durant had to leave the game due to another leg injury, and it’s what most fans feared of.

Durant returned to the lineup in Game 5 of the Finals with the Golden State facing an elimination game at Scotiabank Arena. The player looked really good during the opening quarter and had his first two baskets. However, he re-injured his right calf during a collision on an offensive play with the Raptors’ Serge Ibaka. Well, it looked like a calf injury.

The 30-year-old veteran has been out of the game for a month due to a calf injury. But, this is a completely different thing.

Warriors president of basketball operations Bob Myers couldn’t handle his emotions.

“It should’ve been a night of triumph, proof that Golden State was as much grit and guile as splash and flash. And yet Myers was just torn up, a face full of questions and regret and pain.

“The initial injury was a calf injury. This is not a calf injury.

“It’s an Achilles injury,” Myers said. “I don’t know the extent of it. He’ll have an MRI tomorrow. … I don’t believe there’s anybody to blame. But I understand this world. And if you have to, you can blame me. I run our basketball operations department.”

Kevin Durant made a statement after the game.

“I’m hurting deep in the soul right now I can’t lie,” Durant wrote. “But seeing my brother get this win was like taking a shot of tequila, I got new life. #dubs”

Things don’t look good for Durant and for his team. The Warriors managed to defeat the Raptors, but that’s no guarantee for the team. Stephen Curry was devastated to hear the terrible news, and he was one of the many players who supported Durant throughout all the criticism. Dealing with Achilles injury is a terrible thing, and Curry knows it best. Hopefully, Durant will get better in near future, because his team needs him. The MRI results will be of great help.
