Kendrick Perkins Claims Kevin Durant ‘Never Bounced Back’ From Blowup With Draymond Green (Video)

Kevin Durant left the Golden State Warriors, and it seems like he had a few reasons to do that. Some say it happened because of head coach Steve Kerr. Others believe that Durant’s decision has something to do with Draymond Green. Kendrick Perkins is one of them.

The Warriors dynasty is over as confirmed by multiple sources. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson will struggle on the floor next year. Curry wanted Durant on the roster this year, but he is gone now.

Perkins is convinced that Durant would never re-sign with the Warriors. According to him, “Kevin Durant never bounced back from the Draymond situation.”

“I think the Warriors had a chance to sign KD back, but when that situation occurred—and the Warriors tried to clean it up by suspending Draymond—but they suspended Draymond and then about two months later, the owner comes back out and says he wants Draymond there for life. It’s hard to say they took him for granted, but I think he felt like it was best for him to leave. It’s hard to overcome that. Those were some harsh words.”

Green and Durant beefed a lot, and Green even told his teammate that the Lakers don’t need him. He even called him names.

“Get the [expletive] out of here,” Green told Durant in the locker room. “Watch us figure this [expletive] out.” Durant was at the locker stall directly to Green’s right, responded, “[Expletive], you [are expletive] crazy.”

Was Green aware of his mistake? Probably. But, everything changed from that moment. He was even suspended.

“If those emotions are what caused us to lose [Thursday night], then my bad,” said Green after his first game back from the suspension. “But we’re not panicking. … We’re still the best team in the league and we’re going to win a bunch of games and go win another championship and we’ll be fine.”

Let’s not forget that Green called Durant in the parking lot of Oracle Arena after losing Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals to LeBron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers. He told him that the Golden State needs him. So, what happened on the floor?
