Jayson Tatum Calls Tom Brady ‘The Guy’, Weighs Semi Ojeleye’s NFL Career

Jayson Tatum and Brad Stevens attended the New England Patriots’ fourth day of training camp to get a special look at how the six-time Super Bowl champions prepare for a season. They were interacting with coaches, players and even the team’s media department.

It’s become a tradition for Stevens to attend training camp, but Tatum has not seen the team up close and personal. As a St. Louis native, where the Rams left for Los Angeles, Tatum may be in the market for a new team.

The Boston Celtics’ wing spoke about Tom Brady and what it’s like to connect with the six-time Super Bowl champion.

“My whole life has been, ‘Tom Brady is the guy,’” Tatum said on Sunday. “Just to be able to interact with him and see how he goes about his business is cool.”

“I just appreciate everybody else in their own profession but especially in football,” Tatum said. “There are some things where we can relate, and some things are just totally different, so it’s cool to come and see it in person.”

Tatum was also asked about his teammates and which of them he thinks could play in the NFL. The answer of the 21-year-old was Semi Ojeleye, who’s known for his impressive frame and work ethic.

“Semi Ojeleye would be a great d-end or tight end. He’s about 6-foot-7, 6-foot-6, 260 pounds, so he’d fit perfect out here.”

Jason Tatum is not wrong on this one and we think most of the Patriots fans would agree. And, as Twitter user Nick Collins noted, with tight end Benjamin Watson missing the Patriots’ first four games due to suspension, Ojeleye could be put to good use at Gillette Stadium.
