Steph Curry And D’Angelo Russell Already Working Out, Warriors Share Epic Photo

The Warriors made a projected starting backcourt of Steph Curry and D’Angelo Russell based on their performance in 2018-19. According to that, they have an average of 48.4 points and 12.2 assists per game.

There will be some more calculations of the duo to provide much of the offensive firepower for a team that is going without Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson who’ll pause for at least the first few months of the upcoming season due to the ACL injury.

It appears that Curry and Russell are wasting no time getting acquainted, and this photo D’Angelo posted of the two after a workout is the perfect example.

Recently re-signed Warriors guard Damion Lee was also attending. In addition to being his teammate, Lee is also Curry’s brother-in-law.

If Curry and Russell can build a solid relationship now with several months before NBA training camps begin, the Warriors will be a formidable foe in what – as many predict – will be a wide-open race for the Western Conference crown.

The majority of the responsibility would fall on the shoulders of Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Russell to lead the way for much of the regular season while Thompson is out. The ‘All-Star’ fivesome of Curry, Durant, Thompson, Green and Cousins might be shaken, but there is enough talent in that trio to contend.

Kevon Looney’s return also provides a level of stability in the frontcourt, especially after he averaged a career-best 6.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists a night during the 2018-19 campaign. He might assume an even larger role in the upcoming season since he can play in taller lineups with Willie Cauley-Stein if needed.
