LeBron James Reportedly Selling Kawhi Leonard on Being His Heir Apparent in Los Angeles

LeBron James may have a plan. The Los Angeles Lakers are considered favorites in the Kawhi Leonard story, and it looks like King James has an amazing selling point to try and bring Leonard to sign a contract with the franchise.

LeBron is selling Leonard on being the heir apparent to the Lakers team. Let’s not forget that Leonard has shown interest in playing alongside LeBron, too.

There was a nice theory shared on Adrian Wojnarowski’s podcast.

“Part of LeBron/Lakers pitch to Kawhi is that it will be his team in 2 years. Why? Because LeBron wants to play with Bronny regardless of where that is and would leave to go play with him when he’s eligible.”

In other words, LeBron offered to hand the reigns over to Leonard in couple of years so he can go play with LeBron James Jr. wherever he enters the league.

This was a rather interesting way to attract Leonard’s attention. He has a couple of years to play alongside LeBron and Anthony Davis and win a title. When LeBron leaves the Lakers, Leonard will be the main player in one of the NBA’s greatest teams. This will give him a chance to play on a superteam and “be his own man.”

This may be considered as a vain attempt to draw in another big name to boost the roster and improve his legacy. LeBron will probably have two more runs to the Finals, and he will probably leave the team to play with Bronny.

Leonard will have to make a really big decision this summer. Will he join the Lakers?

He has already met with Magic Johnson, and used the opportunity to ask if the Lakers are really interested in him. Leonard will probably bring in his own trainers and medical team, because he wants to get a LeBron-like treatment. Will the Lakers allow this?

There are so many questions out there, and Leonard is the only person to answer them. Let’s see what happens next week. His meeting with Jeanie Buss is really important. Hopefully, Magic Johnson will attend the meeting, too.
