Mark Wahlberg Doubles Down On Baker Prediction, He’s Tom Brady’s Heir

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is the greatest of all times, and Mark Wahlberg believes that Baker Mayfield is the heir to the throne. He insists that Mayfield will be a Patriot once Brady retires.

“He’s the heir to the throne to Tom Brady!” he said.

In June 2018, he said that Mayfield will end up playing with the New England Patriots. Well, Mayfield is in Cleveland now, and it seems like he will stay there for a while. However, Wahlberg hasn’t changed his mind regarding his Mayfield-Brady comments.

He believes that head coach Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft will bring Baker in New England, and help him take the throne. The actor has spent some time with Wahlberg in his F45 Training gym in LA a few days ago.

Mayfield has words of praise for the GOAT, and respects his dominance on the field.

“Just being around the greatest of all time, it’s just an honor to be around him,” he said. “And then how he is with his teammates, the guys he’s played with, how they speak so highly of him. You don’t really talk about football in those situations, but how he treats everybody, how he handles himself. I think it’s just some of the better examples on how to go through life. He does it all right.”

He had the opportunity to join Brady in the NFL 100 Super Bowl commercial, and it was a brilliant experience.

“Obviously, being a part of something like that is very special,” Mayfield said about his role in the commercial and the experience he had with Brady. “Some of the names in that, if you told me last year that I would be a part of a commercial like that, I would’ve told you you’re absolutely lying. So to be able to be a part of a commercial with legends like that and actually be next to Tom Brady, no matter what you think about it, that’s the greatest of all time. So to be able to actually hold those rings — and they are heavy, those were the real rings, they are heavy — it’s something fun.

“Getting to talk to him a little bit and just get to know him … his presence is something that you feel as soon as he walks into a room. That’s the kind of stuff you admire and I want to have when I finish playing.”

In his rookie season, Mayfield completed 63.8 percent of his passes for 3,725 yards, 27 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.

Is he ready for Tom Brady?

“Yeah, we have them on the schedule,” Mayfield said of playing New England next season. “That will be awesome, to play against somebody that’s been playing for so long at such a consistent level. That’s one of those challenges that you try and rise up to each week, and that will be fun.”
