NBA Reporters Are Tracking Airplanes and #KawhiWatch Has Officially Gotten Out of Hand

Kawhi Leonard has yet to make a decision regarding his future home. Leonard will have to make a decision, and he will have to choose between the Raptors, Lakers or Clippers. Who is getting his signature? Now we know that respected reporters like Mark Stein are trying to track down planes that departed from Toronto and landed in Southern California.

Kawhi is absurdly quiet and doesn’t like all the attention most athletes get on social media. He would never agree to have his travel plans and location broadcasted to the public.

The message from Leonard’s camp from the beginning was that they are willing to take their time. This will be a career-changing move, and Leonard will have to think really well.

Fox’s Chris Broussard thinks free agent Kawhi Leonard should end up with the Los Angeles Lakers:

“I think Kawhi is going to the Lakers. … If you just look at the next four years, believe it or not, he will make $11 million more by playing with the Lakers because of the taxes in Canada.”

“He brought us a championship and he did it in a year,” said Kelsea O’Brien, a writer at the fan site Raptors Republic. “There were so many years when we had hopes and glimmers of hope, but that came to fruition and he did it, and the whole city fell in love with him and we’re up in the air and don’t know if he loves us back.”

It’s all about money, according to Forbes.

“Raptors fans say, correctly, that the Raptors can offer Leonard more money and more years than any other team. This argument is correct but is easily broken down. First, Leonard is 28. In four years he will be 32 and will sign another max contract. He is getting that fifth year somewhere with someone and will get paid maximum money to do so. If he has a career-ending injury during this contract period, he will be paid through a disability policy that he most-assuredly has bought. So year five is moot.”
