New Update Comes In On Patriots Pending White House Visit

Will the New England Patriots visit the White House to celebrate the Super Bowl LIII title with sitting US President Donald Trump?

ESPN’s Mike Reiss reported that the Patriots haven’t schedule a visit to the White House. June is already gone, and most players and coaches are off on summer break. We believe that this visit won’t happen this summer.

For the first five Super Bowl wins, the Patriots have visited the White House in April.

“The club hasn’t visited this year, and now that April and May have passed, it makes a sixth visit more of a logistical challenge, in part because players and coaches are taking final vacations before the start of training camp,” Reiss writes. “That might be a disappointment to some who would cherish the experience, but at the same time, it eliminates some of the recent hubbub involving teams from all sports in which who attends or doesn’t attend becomes a bigger story than the actual White House visit itself.”

This was an expected outcome. The Boston Globe reported that the White House and the Patriots were trying to find dates throughout April and May for the players to head down to D.C. However, they weren’t able to find a date that worked for the team and the White House.

Reiss pointed out that White House visits have become a thing that makes headlines.

If the Patriots ever make their way to Washington D.C. it will happen for their game against the Washington Redskins in Week. 5. They may try to squeeze in a visit to Trump’s White House at this point, but we don’t really believe that head coach Bill Belichick will support this idea as it may distract players for the upcoming games.

If Belichick accepts the possibility of visiting the White House in the regular season, the team will also visit the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9 on Sunday Night Football. They may play the game, stay in Baltimore and visit the White House after the game as the Patriots have their bye week in Week 10.

Of course, this would again be a distraction. Let’s see what happens next.
