Shaquille O’Neal Reacts To LeBron James As LA’s Point Guard

The Los Angeles Lakers decided to turn LeBron James into a new point guard. It seems like NBA Hall of Famer and current TNT analyst Shaquille O’Neal likes that.

“He has Magic Johnson tendencies,” Shaq said. “He also has Michael Jordan tendencies.”

Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports was the first to report that the Lakers plan to start LeBron alongside Danny Green in the team’s new-look back court.

“The new-look Los Angeles Lakers are heading into the 2019-20 season with the intention of starting LeBron James at point guard, league sources told Yahoo Sports. James, 34, will be entering his 17th NBA season and is prepared to become the floor general in an effort to maximize a roster that’s suddenly built to contend for a championship with the addition of All-Star forward Anthony Davis and a few complementary pieces.

“James, a four-time league MVP, and newly acquired Danny Green are expected to start in the backcourt, sources said.”

LeBron is a 16-year NBA veteran, and he ranked 10th on the NBA’s all-time assists list (8,662). NBA.com confirms that LeBron is at a slight distance of passing Gary Payton and Isiah Thomas in the 2019-20 season.

“I just [hope] for his sake if he wins here it’ll just add a couple extra shiny pages to his book,” Shaq said. “The book is already done but if he can win here it’ll just put because just going into Staples Center and look at those people up there those are some very impressive names.”

Shaq wasn’t always happy with LeBron being called the GOAT. Moreover, he was surprised to hear all those people calling LeBron the greatest of all time, because he had spent just a year in Los Angeles.

Stop it,” Shaq said. “You can’t come here and play one year and be involved in the conversation for best Laker ever. Stop it. Are you kidding me?…No disrespect to Lebron. He’s a great player, but you can’t come here one year and be in that conversation. Listen, Magic, Worthy, Kobe, Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, Wilt Chamberlain. That’s a lot.”

LeBron is really happy with his life in Los Angeles. Anthony Davis is in town, too. So, game on!
