Tom Brady ‘More Impressive’ Than Patrick Mahomes In 2018… Ex-Jets GM Makes Case

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is the GOAT. But, he’s been involved in a GOAT debate that includes Patrick Mahomes, too.

Former NFL exec Mike Tannenbaum is more impressed by Brady.

“For me, it would be Tom Brady. Being in the AFC East for as long as I have, between the Jets and the Dolphins, every year we were like, ‘Wow, this is going to be it for Tom. He’s getting older. This has got to be the year. This has to be the year.’ And it’s remarkable. He’s gotten better,” Tannenbaum said. “He’s so smart. He knows where he’s going with the ball often before the ball’s ever snapped, so it’s hard to get to him because he gets rid of it so quickly. It’s really remarkable that he’s actually gotten better in the back half of his career from the first half. “Unfortunately, I’ve admired it to my detriment, but he really deserves a lot of credit.”

Brady and Mahomes talked about the big loss, and their locker room convo was sure a thing.

“I think it was a little bit of both,” Mahomes said when asked if it was a message of encouragement or a simple talk. “It was such a great game with so many emotions where it was going back and forth at the end. I feel like he just came up to me and was kind saying, ‘Good game,’ and everything like that. I mean, he was in my place (earlier in his career). He was young. He got to win the Super Bowl in his first year with you (Bruschi) and everybody, so he understands that time, it flies by, just make sure I put in the work, and I think he saw that I put in the work to be in those situations.”

“I just went and saw him,” Brady said. “I mean, he’s feeling like you think he’d feel when you lose a game like this. It hurts. He’s a hell of a … I mean, what a great young player. So impressed with his poise, his leadership. He is spectacular.”

This explains pretty much everything.
