Video: LeBron James Hints At Potential Starting 5 For Lakers This Season

LeBron James didn’t have much success in his debut season with the Los Angeles Lakers. He suffered a terrible groin injury on Christmas, and was sidelined for 17 games. The Lakers had no chance against other teams. They played without their star, and the young core was too weak to lead the game. The starting 5 remained the same throughout the season. Was that a mistake?

Well, the Lakers have Anthony Davis now, and they signed a few other powerful players. LeBron and Anthony make the strongest duo for the 2018-19 season.

King James is more than thrilled about the upcoming season. He promised the Lakers to help them win a title, and it looks like he will do that this year.

On Wednesday, LeBron shared a few videos playing NBA 2K20. In one of the videos, LeBron scans through a starting five of Avery Bradley, Danny Green, himself, Davis and DeMarcus Cousins.

If you think better, this would be the ideal starting lineup for Los Angeles, and they are probably going with that one. Rajon Rondo and Kyle Kuzma are expected to lead the second unit.

This sort of confirms what Chris Haynes from Yahoo Sports wrote. LeBron is expected to be a starting point guard.

“The new-look Los Angeles Lakers are heading into the 2019-20 season with the intention of starting LeBron James at point guard, league sources told Yahoo Sports. James, 34, will be entering his 17th NBA season and is prepared to become the floor general in an effort to maximize a roster that’s suddenly built to contend for a championship with the addition of All-Star forward Anthony Davis and a few complementary pieces.

“James, a four-time league MVP, and newly acquired Danny Green are expected to start in the backcourt, sources said.”

The Lakers roster is packed with talent. That’s what makes LeBron even more excited about the upcoming season. The Lakers couldn’t sign Davis in their first attempt, but he is a Laker now. LeBron needed another star on the roster, and they are unstoppable now. We can’t wait for the season to start!
