Watch Kevin Durant Walking Around LA Without Crutches

After suffering a severe Achilles injury in the NBA Finals over a month ago, Kevin Durant brought a smile on the faces of Nets fans and NBA fans alike when he walked the streets of Los Angeles without crutches.

While you can’t see much of Durant’s mobility on the video, it’s great to know that the superstar forward is recovering. He’s expected to miss the duration of the 2019-20 NBA season and many were skeptical that Durant won’t be able to completely return to peak form. But first things first.

Though the Brooklyn Nets are fully expected to be a playoff team next season, they won’t get past the Eastern Conference elite that easily. While they have a nice young core in Spencer Dinwiddie, Jarrett Allen, and Caris LeVert, it likely won’t be enough to defeat Philadelphia or Milwaukee teams.

However, Durant’s return should give them the boost needed to compete against any team in the East or West. Walking without a boot or crutches was definitely not something fans expected after seeing Durant hobble off the court during the Finals, so this definitely brings back hope.

After his surgery, Durant posted a photo of himself recovering in a hospital room.

“My road back starts now!” Durant wrote in the caption. “I got my family and loved ones by my side and we truly appreciate all the messages and support people have sent our way.

“Like I said Monday, I’m hurting deeply, but I’m OK. Basketball is my biggest love and I wanted to be out there that night because that’s what I do. I wanted to help my teammates on our quest for the three peat.

“Its just the way things go in this game and I’m proud that I gave it all I physically could, and I’m proud my brothers got the W. It’s going to be a journey but I’m built for this. I’m a hooper I know my brothers can get this Game 6, and I will be cheering with dub nation while they do it.”
