Julian Edelman Shares Adorable Photo Of His Daughter Sleeping With Teddybear

Julian Edelman’s world completely changed in 2016 when he became a father for the first time to daughter Lily. Her birth was a giant reality check for the NFL Super Bowl champion. “Fatherhood is such a huge challenge,” Julian said in an interview, “especially with [Ella’s] profession and my profession being able to give my daughter the time and energy that she desires and that she needs.”

“There’s a fine line. You have your craft, and you’re working towards being the best you can possibly be, something that you’ve been working towards your whole life since you were 8 years old, and then all of a sudden, your priorities change. You’re not living for yourself anymore, you’re living for your little girl now. That’s how my parents lived for me, so that’s all I really know,” said Julian.

Despite these challenges – fatherhood, playing for the biggest NFL team in history – Julian can handle it all. “There’s adversity everyone overcomes in football with injuries and in life,” he said, noting how he tore his ACL during a 2017 pre-season game. “There are always setbacks, but I truly believe what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, and when you get down to the nuts and bolts, when you go through something and you beat it, there’s no other feeling like it.”

Becoming a parent was the greatest challenge in life, and Edelman’s life changed completely.

 “One hundred percent,” he said when media members asked him if Lily changed his life. “When you become a pa, you have different priorities now and you’re not living for yourself, you’re living for someone else now. It’s pretty cool to go out and experience success and having your little human that’s just running around saying “Da-Da” that doesn’t know anything is going on. She’s like a little good luck charm. It’s unbelievable when you get to see her after a game. The feeling has changed. My whole family’s been a part of my road with how close we are and to welcome her in, it just makes it bigger and better.”

Julian is one proud father and he uses every opportunity to share that with the world. He recently posted an Instagram story of his daughter sleeping with her teddy bear.
