LOOK: Stephen Curry Helps Renovate Run-Down Oakland Park

Oakland musician Nimsins tagged Draymond Green, Kevon Looney, Alfonzo McKinnie and Jordan Bell in a tweet in late June asking for help with Concordia Park in Oakland. The basketball court was cracked, there were no lights and the guys had only one hoop on a full-length court.

“It all started with a tweet. Oakland musician Nimsins tagged the Warriors, along with players Draymond Green, Kevon Looney, Alfonzo McKinnie and Jordan Bell, in a tweet in late June asking for help with Concordia Park in Oakland. The basketball court was cracked, the park lacked lights and there was only one hoop on a full-length court.

“But it was someone who wasn’t tagged in the tweet, the Warriors’ biggest star, who came through.

“Steph Curry unveiled the new Concordia Park on Tuesday. The new court features vibrant graphics, including some of Curry’s favorite phrases such as “Ruin the Game” and “I Can Do All Things,” which is in reference to a Bible verse he writes on his sneakers.

“The Warriors’ superstar point guard even greeted fans at the revamped court.

“That was just the beginning, too. Curry threw down a slam on one of the brand new hoops, and even let someone dunk over him.”

Curry is really busy off the court. His team lost the NBA Finals, but he doesn’t give up. Missing the chance to win a title was a hard blow, but Curry found a way to get through it.

Let’s be honest. Curry was devastated. His wife, Ayesha Curry knows it best.

“The mood right now looks like sloping greens and 9-irons and drivers,” Ayesha said. “That’s what happens during the offseason.

“You know what? At this point, a lot of times, things are bigger than basketball. So at this point, (Steph) just wants his teammates to get healthy.”

The Warriors will rely on Curry next season. They lost Kevin Durant, Andre Iguodala and a few other players. Klay Thompson will miss the season due to his ACL injury, and the young players will have to try really hard. But, Curry is ready for that and much more. Thumbs up!
