Tom Brady Has Reward In Mind for Chase Winovich After Rookie’s Strong Debut

The New England Patriots had their preseason opener against the Detroit Lions, and Chase Winovich was brilliant. Moreover, he saved his long blond locks.

The rookie tallied 1.5 sacks in the 31-3 win over the Lions, and his debut was too strong for Brady to ignore it. Well, Brady even thought of the idea of sparing Winovich from his terrible tradition. Horrible haircuts, remember?

Winovich’s recent post was related to the Patriots win, and TB12 had the perfect comment.

Well… that escalated quickly

“Maybe you can keep your hair,” he wrote.

When it comes to his locks, Winovich was fine with the Patriots cutting it.

“For me, it is a source of pride and strength to a certain degree playing football,” Winovich said of his locks. “But at the end of the day, it’s just hair and if they really wanted to cut it, I wouldn’t have any qualms about it. I’m part of a team. It’s not about me. It’s about what the team wants.

“I’ve expressed that to some of the leaders so I think that makes them less inclined to try to cut it anyways. That’s kind of human nature.”

This doesn’t apply to his fellow rookie N’Keal Harry.

“Tom, look. Please don’t cut my hair, Tom,” Harry said. “It’s my confidence, you want me to play better, you might as well keep my hair on the top of my head.

“I’ll do anything. If you want me to pay everybody in the locker room, I’ll pay you all off.”

Winovich is the perfect addition for the Patriots, and Bill Belichick and the rest of the staff played really smart.

“Complete wackjob,’ Michigan defensive coordinator Don Brown said when describing Winovich. “When he plays, he gets in the zone and he plays the game like a crazed dog, that’s for sure. He’s a little flamboyant off the field, not to the point where it’s distasteful or arrogant. He just has fun playing the game. After every tackle for a loss or sack I’d say, ‘Let’s see what he’s going to do now when he gets up?’ He’s going to be missed, that’s for sure.
