Off The Floor, The Golden State Warriors Are Getting Ready For The Future

The Golden State Warriors will make a lot of changes on the floor this season. They will open their first season in their new home in San Francisco with a new roster built around Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson.

The team will invest in the development of their players. Ron Adams will be included in these changes. He is excellent in constructing and teaching defensive strategies. His new contract will give him more player development duties. The Warriors lost Andre Iguodala and other talented defensive players, so Adams’ role is really important this season. He is expected to unlock the hidden defensive talents in Warriors, helping them get ready for the years that follow.

Willie Green joined the Phoenix Suns to work as a top assistant for Monty Williams. The Warriors decided to bring Aaron Miles to work on the player development side. Miles was the head coach of the Santa Cruz Warriors for two seasons, and earned a 57-43 record on the way and a league-high-tying 34-16 record and Pacific Division title in 2018-19. Miles coached the Warriors summer league squad and he was really good in implementing the Warriors principles of ball and player movement.

Miles knows Alen Smailagic, Jacob Evans and Quinn Cook really well. Theo Robertson will give Miles a hand in the process.

When it comes to the front office, the Warriors may put Kent Lacob and Shaun Livingston in the front office.

“Whether it’s new faces, or more familiar ones in new roles, the Warriors are preparing for the future. And while all the new arrivals on the court will grab the headlines, these changes behind the scenes may well determine just how rosy that future is.”

It looks like the Warriors are pretty serious about their future. They lost a lot of valuable players, but they will sure find a way to play without them. The franchise is adding great names to the staff, and that’s of utmost importance in the process of restructuring the organization. They will have a new logo and jerseys, too. It’s time for a fresh start for everyone.
