Skip Bayless Fires Off Belichcik-Brady Take During Patriots-Panthers

You’d never see Skip Bayless making a step back, and he always speaks his mind. The Fox Sports 1 host may be one of the most divisive names for Patriots fans. Well, he likes Tom Brady and hates head coach Bill Belichick. That’s what some people say.

Bayless made a big point regarding the Patriots home opener against the Carolina Panthers.

The head coach decided to put Jarrett Stidham in during the preseason win over the Panthers, and didn’t give Brian Hoyer any snaps. This was the perfect moment for Bayless.

“Interesting that Belichick replaced Brady not with backup Brian Hoyer – but with rookie Jarrett Stidham. Belichick obviously wants to replace Brady sooner than later – now he has his next Next Brady. So wrong. So jealous. So Bill.”

This is sort of confusing, because the New England Patriots haven’t revealed their plans regarding Brady’s successor. Belichick has every right to try new players, and Stidham is an excellent player.

We all know that Bayless likes Brady a lot. According to him, TB12 is the No. 1 quarterback, noting that Aaron Donald, Drew Brees, Khalil Mack, Patrick Mahomes and Todd Gurley has nothing on him.

“Patrick Mahomes is just not better than Tom Brady right here, right now,” Bayless said. “We saw one year — one starting year — in which the NFL did not have the offseason to try to figure out what are the kid’s weaknesses, right?

“I’m sorry, (Brady’s) just better. He’s smarter, he’s more efficient, he’s a better leader and his team beat Mahomes’ team (in the 2018 regular season and the AFC Championship Game). I’m sorry, he beat him twice.”

This isn’t the first time Bayless defends the Patriots quarterback.

“After the year Tom Brady had last year, winning another Super Bowl, beating Aaron Rodgers head-to-head, beating Pat Mahomes twice, you have to conclude he’s easily still the best QB in football. It’s proven; it’s a done deal; it’s a fact.

“If I take Brees, Rodgers, Mahome-boy, Roethlisberger, and I sent them to New England with the No. 1 playoff rushing attack, Belichick, and a top-tier scoring defense, do they do less?”
