Danny Amendola And Matthew Slater Have A Video Message To Patriots Fans

The New England Patriots reunited with a bunch of former teammates in the Motor City. The Patriots and Detroit Lions had three joint practices ahead of Thursday’s preseason opener at Ford Field. Former Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia will have his second season as head coach of the Detroit Lions. His 2019 team includes a few former Patriots player, including Trey Flowers. Danny Amendola is in the group of players who worked with Bill Belichick. He signed a one-year deal with the Lions in the offseason. After Wednesday’s practice, Amendola appeared in the video message Matthew Slater had for the Patriots fans.

This will definitely put make someone happy. Patriots fans must be happy for all the support they have been receiving lately, but seeing Amendola support them is sure a big thing.

Amendola respects Tom Brady and doesn’t even think that he will retire in near future.

“Nah, he can play forever,” the former Patriots wide receiver said with a smile. “He’s a great quarterback. He’s in great shape, great condition, obviously, and I’m excited to see him.

“He works extremely hard and is very deserving for all he’s got. I’m happy for him. He’s a good friend, so any time I get to watch him play football is good.”

Amendola will play on the same team with a lot of former Patriots, and he is fine with that.

“A lot of familiar faces,” he added. “But luckily it’s a lot of good football players, so we get to get good work in and try to get better here in camp, run around a bit and try to get ready for the season. I’m excited they’re here.”

Working with Patricia is a pleasure for Amendola.

“No question,” he said. “Coach (Patricia) just has a great program, and he’s developing a great organization, so I’m happy to be here. I’m happy to be a part of something, and I’m going to do my best to fulfill my role on the team and try to expand that and help this team win.”Well, we appreciate this. Will Amendola go back to New England at some point? I don’t think so. But, miracles do happen, remember?
