Kevon Looney Shares Klay Thompson’s Funny Warriors Group Chat Mistake

Professional basketball players fly across the floor, and do magic with the ball. But, fans seem to forget that they are just like us. Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson is one of the best shooters in the world, but he knows how to mess up with the team’s group messages. Kevon Looney knows that for sure.

Looney signed a three-year contract worth $15 million. In one of his interviews, he talked about this group chat.

The conversation was first focused on him, but it was later switched to Thompson. The Warrior sent a message meant for his brothers to the Warriors’ group chat.

“Probably Klay, I remember in The Finals last year he got cleared to play,” Looney told KGO-TV’s Larry Beil. “And he started sending these motivational texts like ‘I’m coming back tonight’, ‘I can’t wait to get out there’, ‘I’m gonna hold the best player.’

“We never seen this side of Klay,” Looney continued. “We were like ‘Yeah Klay! We’re excited for you too!’ He was like … ‘this is the wrong (chat) … This is for my brothers.’”

This gave us a good laugh despite the fact that the Warriors had a disappointing ending of their Finals run. Thompson knows how to hype himself with his brothers, and this “mistake” actually revealed his cute side. Big players don’t usually reveal this side of their personality.

Thompson missed Game 3 of the 2019 NBA Finals after suffering his hamstring injury. It was the first playoff game the talented shooter had missed in his career.

Thompson is recovering his knee injury, and the franchise is expected to put him on reserve until he is ready to rock the floor again. The Warriors will need his 19.5 points per game and 42 percent shooting clip from long distance. Well, they better be ready to fight for a playoff spot without their shooter.

We believe this group chat will become even more interesting now. Zaza Pachulia was hired as a team consultant for the Warriors. The team has to get over the loss of Kevin Durant and Andre Iguodala first. It will be hard, but they are positive. Plus, they have a new home, and Chase Center is insane!
